Day 01: Airport > Colombo
Arrive at Colombo International Airport. Here, you will be met by a designated chauffer guide from Lakpura. After the formalities at the airport you will be escorted to your air conditioned vehicle and proceed to Colombo and check in to the hotel and relax. (Travel Time: 1 to 1 ½ hrs) Evening do Colombo city tour including a visit to Jami Ul-Alfar Mosque (Red Mosque)
The Jami Ul-Alfar Mosque, also known as the Red Mosque (not to be confused with the Red Mosque of New Delhi), is one of Colombo’s oldest mosques. The Arabs arrived for the first time in Sri Lanka for trade in the 7th century AD. As olden day Ceylon was a hub for trade and was right in the middle of the spice and silk routes; they maintained a constant presence in Sri Lanka since that time by either migrating or intermarrying with the locals. Most Islamic communities settled in Colombo or Galle where the main ports were located; and to this day their descendants continue their lives in these areas.
Experience the colorful lights and bright life of Colombo, the capital City of Sri Lanka. Visit historic monuments such as the Old Lighthouse, the Old Parliament, Galle Face Hotel, Galle Face Green, Gangarama Temple, the National Museum and more. Enjoy the malls of Independence Square or the Race Course. Visit boutique shops and designer stores.
On completion return back to your hotel.
Day 02: Colombo > Pinnawala > Sigiriya
After breakfast check out from the check-out from the hotel and proceed to Colombo En Route visit Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage. (Travel Time: 3 to 3 ½ hrs)
Learn more about Elephants than you ever have before. Get a chance watch the mahouts bathe them and maybe even help out. This is an experience that takes you closer to Elephants.
Thereafter proceed to Sigiriya and check into the hotel and relax.
Day 03: Sigiriya > Minneriya > Sigiriya
After breakfast at the hotel, climb Sigiriya Lion Rock thereafter do village tour to explore the villagers’ life. (Travel Time: 1 ½ to 2 hrs)
Climb the 5th century AD rock fortress, Sigiriya, where the King Kasyapa ruled. Walk through the entrance framed by the paws of a lion that is quite appropriate for its name, ' the Lion Rock'. View the beautiful unfading murals that brought Sigiriya its fame. Climb the steep staircase to see the terraced gardens and still-working cisterns. Walk through the tunnels leading to the palace as you get a feel for times long past.
Hiriwaduna is a little village that retains its authentic traditions and culture. Get a chance to go on an oxen cart ride and experience the world from the view of a village farmer. Have a relaxing catamaran safari through a calm lake. Walk through the golden fields ripe with their harvest of paddy. Watch an enjoyable traditional cooking demonstration that teaches you the basics of Sri Lankan cuisine. Delight your taste buds with a home cooked lunch; made over a wood-fire and served on fragrant lotus leaves placed over woven trays. Enjoy the life of a Sri Lankan villager, just this day.
Evening go on a safari in the Minneriya National Park.
This three-hour safari takes you on a ride through the Minneriya National Park. Enjoy the sight of over 150 elephants congregating in one place during the famous Great Elephant Gathering, which happens in the dry season between May to October. In addition to elephants, get a chance to also see many mammals, birds, reptiles and amphibians in the scrublands, forests and other areas.
On completion check into the hotel and relax.
Day 04: Sigiriya
Full day Leisure at Sigiriya.
Day 05: Sigiriya > Sembuwatta > Kandy
After breakfast at the hotel, check out from the hotel and proceed to Matale and visit to Grand Mosque Matale which is a famous mosque in Matale for prayers and also meet with the local community. (Travel Time: 1 ½ to 2 hrs) thereafter visit Sembuwatta Lake.
Sembuwatta Lake is a tourist attraction situated at Elkaduwa in the Matale District of Sri Lanka, adjacent to the Campbell’s Lane Forest Reserve. Sembuwatta Lakeis a man-made lake created from natural spring water. Alongside the lake is a natural swimming pool. Sembuwatta Lake is believed to be 9 m (30 ft) to 12 m (39 ft) deep. Currently the lake belongs to the Elkaduwa Plantations and produces electricity for the nearby villagers.
On completion proceed to kandy check into the hotel and relax. (Travel Time: 30 to 45 mins)
Day 06: Kandy > Peradeniya > Kandy
Enjoy your morning with a refreshing breakfast. Afterwards, proceed to Kandy Town and walk through streets of the Last Kingdom of Sri Lanka, listening to the stories of the history including visit to Meera Makkam Mosque.
You will jaunt through the lively streets of Kandy with their bright colors, delicious foods and deep history. Explore Kandy's most important monuments. Try out yummy Sri Lankan street food in stalls. Enjoy watching garland makers ply their trade. Visit a beautiful Hindu Temple. Go on a short but fun three wheeler ride.
Thereafter visit Royal Botanical Garden. visit Royal Botanical Gardens. (Travel Time: 40 to 50 mins)
Visit the famous Royal Botanical Gardens of Peradeniya, which were formed in the early 19th century. Walk through the vast area containing over 4000 species of plants. Enjoy the learning more about the orchids, spices and medicinal plants. Wander down avenues shaded by large and rare trees, or bordered by flowering plants. Enjoy seeing the cannonball tree, walking over the wobbly suspension bridge and through the short hedge mazes or even climbing the twisty trees that make wonderful jungle gyms.
On completion proceed to kandy return to the hotel and relax.
Day 07: Kandy > Airport
After a relaxed morning and breakfast at the hotel check out and, drive to the Airport for your flight back home.
